ATISA XI Conference - Travel Information

The 2024 ATISA conference will be held on the Rutgers University - New Brunswick campus.

 

Located within an hour of New York City, conference participants have several options to travel to New Brunswick, NJ, with several different ways to get around once there!

Getting There

By Plane

There are several airports in the New York-NJ area.

Newark Airport (EWR)

 

Newark Airport (EWR) is perhaps the best option for travel to Rutgers University. The airport is approximately 40 minutes by train from the Rutgers Campus via NJ Transit. Visit www.njtransit.com or download the NJ Transit app for more information on how to travel to campus.

LaGuardia (LGA) and JFK Airports

A number of international flights fly into JFK or LaGuardia. Participants who travel to these airports in New York City can take several modes of public transportation to the Penn Station New York to access regional trains to New Brunswick, NJ. Total travel time (train or bus) between these two airports and New Brunswick, NJ, is approximately 2 hours.

 

By Train

New Jersey Transit

Train service to New Brunswick is provided by New Jersey Transit's Northeast Corridor Line, with both local and express service between Penn Station, New York; Newark; and Trenton, NJ.

Amtrack

Limited direct service is available via Amtrack to New Brunswick; however, connections can easily be made via NJ Transit trains to principal Amtrak stations at MetroPark, New York, and Trenton.

By Car

The Rutgers New Brunswick campus is located off of the NJ Turnpike (exit 9). Follow signs for the College Avenue campus. For more information on getting to campus by car, see the following link.

Street parking is available (free and metered), and participants can use some of the Downtown New Brunswick information.

By Bus

The following bus routes provide access to New Brunswick-area campuses. Visit www.njtransit.com or call 973-275-5555 for more information.

Getting Around

Rutgers, New Brunswick is located in central NJ, approximately 39 miles south of Manhattan, NY.

It is centrally located on the NJ Northeast Corridor Line, and trains run frequently (every 15-20 minutes) between New York Penn Station and Trenton (continuing to Philadelphia.

The College Ave. campus is located right next to the train and bus stations.

Conference participants can choose to stay in any of the hotels in New Brunswick, or they could choose to stay in any of the hotels near Penn Station, NYC and travel to the conference via NJ Transit (50-60 minute train ride, approx. $28 round-trip).

Buses also run between NY Port Authority Bus Terminal and New Brunswick.
